High School

Worked youth football for many years, starting back in 1985.

Worked football for the AIA for 25 years 1985-2010

Assigned 2 state championships 2005 and 2010

Served on the AzFOA Board, residing on numerous committees and was president of the board for 2 years.

Received the Bob Madrid Award in 2010 as Outstanding Official of the Year

 

Junior College

Worked in the WSFL for 6 years from 2004-10

Assigned as Referee to the Valley of the Sun Bowl in 2009

Was named “WSFL Official of the Year” in 2008 & 2009

 

Division 1

Started in the CFO West in 2011 working in the Southland Conference, currently working as Referee in the Mountain West Conference.

Assigned the Liberty Bowl in 2012.

 

Personal

A native Arizonan, born in Tempe, he attended Tempe High School, Mesa Community College and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. Dave is currently in his 30th year of teaching Physical Education at Fees College Prep Middle School.

Coach Alvarez resides in Mesa and has had the privilege of raising two beautiful daughters, Tracie and Kristina.
