Howard began officiating football in 1989 in Arizona as a Line Judge and eventually worked to have his own crew in 2004.

Helped bridge a relationship between the AIA and Channel 12 Friday Night Fever through the Turkey Drive with Bruce Cooper. Howard has represented the AIA as a part of Channel 12’s Turkey Drive since 2006 and continued to appear on the program through 2023.

Howard has truly been a great ambassador of the game throughout his officiating career and has built great relationships with young and upcoming officials, as well as players. He has been a steady presence on the fields of Arizona officiating football for over 30 years. Howard has travelled all over the state of Arizona officiating football on behalf of the AIA.

Howard was a regular on the campuses of schools outside the greater metropolitan area, earning him profound respect and admiration from his fellow officials by his willingness to travel to officiate. Longevity is one word that describes Howards officiating career.
